HKR climatec GmbH, founded in 1990 by the companies Holzschuh, KRAH and Riedel, marked the start as a specialised manufacturer of electronic controllers for the automotive industry.
In 2000, HKR climatec GmbH was taken over by the Seuffer Group. This strategic acquisition strengthened HKR's position as a leading supplier of power electronics for vehicles.
In 2011, HKR founded a joint venture in Shanghai, China. This expansion into the Asian market increased the company's global reach and strengthened its production capacities in the automotive industry.
With the change of name to HKR Seuffer Automotive GmbH & Co. KG and the move to Kupferzell in 2012, the company focussed on an expanded market strategy and improved production processes.
In 2013, HKR opened a new production site in Bitterfeld-Wolfen to increase manufacturing capacity and optimise the production of high-performance electronics for the automotive industry.
The cooperation agreement with the Korean company HyoSeong in 2015 enabled HKR to further expand its innovative strength in BLDC technology, which promoted the development of advanced vehicle control systems.
In 2019, HKR was finally renamed HKR Automotive GmbH. With HyoSeong and the KRAH Group as shareholders, the company strengthened its global presence and innovative capacity in the automotive industry.
